Dr. Laura De Castro is Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Benign Hematology for the Institute for Transfusion Medicine and UPMC Cancer Center. She received her MD from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo and then completed a residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Yale University, and an MS in clinical research at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. De Castro then went on to complete a PhD at the University of South Carolina.
