Dr. Brandy Gunsolus is a doctor of clinical laboratory science at Wellstar MCG Health. She was the first advanced practice Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science to graduate in the United States. Dr. Gunsolus received her BS in Clinical Laboratory Science from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, her MS in Clinical Laboratory Science from Rutgers University, and her doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science from Rutgers University.

Dr. Gunsolus has extensive experience in the medical laboratory and manages two laboratories and performs physician consultation and resident teaching in laboratory medicine. Her research interests are in laboratory-to-physician consultation and the its effect on healthcare quality and patient outcomes. Dr. Gunsolus has also been a member of the Consumer Information Team of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), answering chemistry questions and spent 7 years traveling to patients’ homes teaching them and answering questions on the purpose and use of their home diagnostics coagulation testing equipment. She is often invited to speak on physician and patient consultation at meetings and conferences worldwide.
