This article provides an overview of the existence and role of racism in healthcare, how it manifests, and its negative impact on the healthcare of people in racial and ethnic groups — resulting in health disparities.

Glaring health disparities that harm Blacks cannot be ignored. Racism and health disparities are inextricably linked. This reckoning is an opportunity to examine our conscience and our roles in contributing to such a legacy.
