Deandre has a background in oncology clinical research with a focus in sarcomas and lung cancers. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of South Florida. After her work in oncology, Deandre worked in a neurological medicine clinic coordinating clinical trials but specializing in Parkinson’s disease. She also performed phlebotomy and lab processing of blood samples. Deandre has extensive experience with clinical trial management, research in sickle cell anemia, emergency medicine, and biostatistical analysis. She has managed trial patient accruals and all aspects of patient participation, source documentation of all trial data collection, conducts trial audits and site monitoring, IRB-approved informed consent management, patient eligibility verification, and protocol education amongst research staff, physicians, nurses, pharmacy, laboratory and patients.
Deandre is currently taking coursework that emphasizes public health disparities and holistic, team-based patient care.
